One piece. One artisan. Start to finish.
A Neri Karra bespoke commission is not assembled. It is built, by a single master artisan, from the first cut of the hide to the final burnished edge. The same pair of hands that selects your skin will stitch your lining, set your monogram, and pack the finished piece in its linen dust-bag.
The construction time averages one hundred and eighty hours. We have recorded pieces that crossed four hundred, where the client requested a specific journal entry and we rebuilt the pattern around the binding of an inherited book.
This is why the lead time is nine months, and why the waitlist is long, and why each finished piece carries, stitched into the inner lining, the personal monogram of the one artisan responsible for it. II. The Four Chapters
From the first letter to the moment the piece is hand-delivered.

The Consultation
A private exchange, by letter or in the atelier, where we learn how the piece will be carried, for how many years, and into which rooms. We agree on form, function, and the single line of monogram that will sign the interior.

The Hide Selection
You visit the Conceria Walpier archive, or we send twenty-four swatch samples cut from hides reserved against your name. You choose grain, weight, and the depth of patina you wish the piece to wear into over the decades ahead.

The Construction
A single master artisan begins. Saddle-stitched by hand at twelve stitches to the inch. Edge-burnished in eight passes. Your monogram worked into the lining in the same thread that closes the final seam. We send photographs at every third week.

The Delivery
The finished piece is delivered in our linen travel case, accompanied by a typed ledger of every material and a certificate bearing the artisan's monogram. For European clients we deliver by hand. For clients further abroad, we travel to install it.
Month nine
III. The Signature
Six interior monograms, six hands that sign them.
Every Neri Karra piece carries, stitched into the lining, the personal monogram of the single artisan who built it. These are six of the twenty-two who hold the workshop's needle.
The maker's monogram is the only signature on a Neri Karra piece. It is the answer, sewn into the lining, to the question of who made what.
